We’re a friendly bunch here at HAVOC, and we welcome anyone from 14 years old upwards, whatever their abilities are. Classes begin with a brief warm up followed by a focus on technique, which you’ll have chance to practise with a partner and under the supervision of an expert instructor. You won’t be expected to keep pace with the senior students if you’re a beginner, and if you’re a seasoned martial artist, we won’t hold you back.
We like to keep the environment relaxed and there’s no pressure to do anything you aren’t comfortable with – although we do encourage our students to push themselves a little. Egos are left at the door and students and instructors alike approach techniques with curiosity and openness – after all, each of us is different and what works for some won’t work for others.
As Sifu Jay Cooper puts it: “Most combat training gives you a series of weapons to use… we prefer to give you a box of tools.”
What others say
“I have had the pleasure of training with Simon and his students at several martial arts seminars across the South East. I have found him to be knowledgeable, capable and dedicated in his JKD martial arts experience and
delivery.
“His students have all been excellent practitioners, with an open mind to learning other styles and applications. With his recent merging with HAVOC JKD in Canada the content and commitment of the classes continue to grow exponentially.
“A thoroughly good guy with years of training and teaching experience Simon is a ‘must go to guy’ if you want serious but fun JKD training in the South east of England.”
